Thousands of books have been written about, or set in, Arizona. Titles for Reading Arizona: The Literary Landscape were selected from among the recommendations we received that we could place geographically and that gave us a good overview of literature and a good representation of authors. Many tough choices were made, and many books were put aside with regret--but they won't pass unnoticed. To accommodate every eligible book the Reading Arizona Book Listing was developed. It contains not only all the books on the map but also the titles not selected that fit the criteria of being about Arizona, or set in the state (as nearly as we can figure).
